History:
Site originally occupied by General Motors manufacturing facility from 1916 until 1963. Eastmont Shopping Center opened in November 1970. Economic conditions forced foreclosure in 1992. Eastmont Properties Company, LLC acquired the property in 1993 and initiated an adaptive reuse of the property, turning it into a true community center. Today, Eastmont Town Center is profitable with 98 percent occupancy and a property value of $85 million.
